For my UNI art project, I chose the future reflection project. I was intrigued at the sound of it and just wanted to learn more. I was a partner with my friend, Abby yet again. We've decided that we work at our best when we are together! :)
We started out with the idea of working alone. We walked around our school looking for potential mirrors or reflections to use.

This plan didn't go very smoothly. We had the troubles of lighting and such. My next try was what I thought would be the best. I had this brilliant idea of wearing a Yankees hat in the picture. I'm a huge Yankees fan!
This next plan did not go very well either. I quickly moved on from this when Abby and I had the idea of using sunglasses as reflections instead of the traditional mirror. It was AMAZING! We got to planning and decided we would bring our sunglasses the next day. The sunglasses represented that our futures will be "bright". We took several photos to make sure we had the right one. When we finally has the one we wanted, we got to work!
Our first step to creating this was tracing ourselves in the app SketchBookX. This really helped us gain a deeper understanding of that app. As you can see, I did a bunch of different shades of color in my hair. I made it look more realistic by smearing it together. Below is a picture of my tracing.

This photo also has the reflection in it. It has Abby's, the Dallas Cowboys' physical trainer. In her tracing of herself it has mine. We are both looking at our future. To put the reflection in the sunglasses I erased the inside and inserted the photograph. To get it to fit right, I erased the outsides.
I assure you, the finished project looks better than the one above. We touched up some of the parts and made it fit nicer together. We tried every single photo editor app that we had. I wanted the reflection to look perfect.

I really enjoyed doing this project. I loved how I could incorporate what career I want in it: sports journalism. I chose to layer two photographs together. The background was Yankees Stadium for obvious reasons. The other photo was either a microphone or pen depending how you look at it. You can't go through life looking at it one way and one way only. You have to open up your views and see other perspectives. I guess what I'm trying to say is that this doesn't only apply in art or baseball, but it is whatever is around you. Everything you see, experience, do.
